HELLO THERE!
Sometimes, finding a direction takes time...and I finally found mine when God tugged hard on my heart fall of 2023...to get involved with dogs. I started my journey at my local animal shelter as a dog caretaker volunteer. I went in with a goal to cater to each dogs unique style/needs and help them with basic manners/cues so they can land great homes and not get returned to the shelter after adoption.
My goal has been exceeded by love, compassion, and understanding not just for the animals but for all of the staff and volunteers as well. I am amazed with the big hearts helpful hands all around. Everyone's unique efforts are definitely needed and make a significant impact!
As a dog caretaker, there is no greater feeling then watching one of the dogs you have been working with and sharing publicly about, walk their happy tails right out the front doors with lovely eager new owners with big smiles and loving hearts.
So, here I have been at the animal shelter since fall of 2023, working with absolutely amazing dogs waiting for their furever perfect home.
