I am prematurely feeling a sense relief as my courses are near an end in two weeks. Though, I am eager to learn more! All the books I have been reading are so amazing; but one in particular I'd like to encourage all dog owners to read, Canine Body Language: A Photographic Guide by Brenda Aloff. This is a great resource to help you, as the dog owner, to interpret your dogs' body language before interactions escalate into unsettling situations...I will be reading through this again. Through these courses, I have gained so much more then what this book provides.

It has been wonderful to be able to learn how to help my elderly dog better starting with just changing her diet...we now have three stages of life types of dog food ;). When our dogs are considered seniors, they have slowed down, therefore, need a simple diet change to avoid obesity (less kcals though still providing a good level of protein). It has also been incredibly awesome to learn ways to help encourage and discourage behaviors using non-aversive training techniques and enrichment! I am sure all of us students were "forced" to think outside of "old school" ways at one point or another in our training class.

Anyway, make sure to check out that book! It is a cool read! My favorite place to check for a book first is thriftbooks. :)
