Welcome to the Animal Shelter

I took the leap and started volunteering our my local animal shelter as a dog mentor! These three faces are a few of the first dogs that I got to meet. I don't know why either of them would have ended up at the shelter because they are so stinkin cute and sweet.

I wasn't quite sure as to what I was doing but diving in head first seemed to be the trick. Some dogs were easy to handle, but some where a bit tougher...cough, cough...Tuffy (not pictured). This position isn't always the cleanest either. Sometimes, I'd end up smelling a bit stinky and realizing that I needed to clean my treat bag after I got home because I had bumped into something with poo on it. Yeah, eewww~but, that is just part of the job ;). To help get the dogs noticed, I started making fun little videos to showcase them (the picture is the beginning of my first video for the dogs). This helps people get a fun visual of the dogs individual personalities before even coming to the shelter. It is also fun to look back at the videos to remember them.
